Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Blue Ox base plate on our 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe. The base plate is gonna be your way to connect your tow bar to the front of your Tahoe and your tow bar is gonna be the physical connection from your Tahoe to your motor home. You're gonna have some other components that you're gonna need in order to flat tow your vehicle. It's gonna be your safety cables, your diode wiring that transfers the lighting signals back to the back of your Tahoe, and then a supplemental braking system. With your base plate, It's gonna have a very, very sturdy steel construction with a matte black powder coat finish. more

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Installation - 2021 Chevrolet Blazer- Video

Hey guys, it's Jake here with Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Direct-Connect base plate on our 2021 Chevrolet Blazer. Your base plate is going to be your main connection point for your tow bar to be able to connect to so you can flat tow your Blazer down the road. As you can see here, our base plate is going to be hidden behind the rear fascia, or behind the front fascia. You'll have your, these tabs here are removable so you won't see them whenever you're not flat towing your vehicle. The safety chain loops will stick out of the front fascia so that you can hook up to your safety chains. more

Speaker We're rolling. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Blue Ox baseplate on a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500. There's five required components when flat towing any vehicle, and on our Chevy 1500 today, we'll start by taking a look at the baseplate. And the baseplate is gonna mount to where the factory tow hooks were, or structurally to the frame of the vehicle, creating a mounting point for the rest of your components, and also your tow bar. Tow bar is your second component, and that is connecting point between the baseplate and the hitch on the RV. Now just like a trailer, we have our safety cables here that'll attach to the tabs on the baseplate that are gonna be your safety chain loops, and then you'll just attach those to the safety chain loops on your RV. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the best flat tow setup for a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox. Now there's five main components required for flat towing your Equinox down the road, and we'll start on the vehicle side and that's gonna start with the base plate, and that attaches to the frame of the vehicle and gives us the structural mounting point for the rest of our connections. And the connecting point between the base plate and the hitch on the RV is gonna be your tow bar, and that's your second component. Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Traverse- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Blue Ox base plate on a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. Now this is what your base plate is gonna look like when it's installed on your Traverse. And it does a pretty good job of making sure everything looks nice and tidy. Once installed, when you don't have your arms attached, it's pretty, almost flushed with the front of the fascia, which is really nice, it gives you a clean look. Your safety chain loops do stick out a little bit, but that's so you can hook onto them nice and easy. And the crossbar that they have will allow you to mount up your 6-pole as well as your breakaway switch on the opposite sides of the license plate, so you don't have to worry about anything getting in the way. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster base plate with removable arms on a 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. There's five main components when flat towing a vehicle that are gonna be required on your Silverado to get it down the road. And the first one is gonna be your base plate that's gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle creating a mounting point, not only for some of your other components but your tow bar. And your tow bar is the connection point between that base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now going along with that, we have our safety chains and these are going to make sure in case of a less than likely but potential of a disconnect, these are gonna keep everything still attached. And you also have a breakaway switch, which is part of your braking system, which is also a component which brings the vehicle to slow and stop when you apply the brakes on the RV and the breakaway switch is if this was to pull in case of a catastrophic disconnect, it's going to apply the brakes on the vehicle, bringing it to a slow and stop. more

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Suburban- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Baseplate for towed vehicles on a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban. Now this is what our baseplate looks like when it's installed and the great part about this one is it replaces your factory tow hook so there's really no trimming or just minor trimming necessary to get this in place. So it retains a nice OEM look and since you are taking off your tow hook you still have your safety chain loop here it can act as a tow hook when normally driving your vehicle. Now overall I really like the clean look of the baseplate and it's a relatively easy installation. Now one thing you will have to keep in mind is mounting up the rest of your flat tow components including this one has an air brake system for its RV, your diode wiring as well as your braking system. Mounting those up can get a little bit tricky but I used our license plate bracket here and got a little bit creative for a nice clean look. more

Your base plate is going to be the attachment point for your main components on a flat towed vehicle. And the Roadmaster ones do a really good job of securely mounting up to the frame of the vehicle, creating a good, solid mounting point for your tow bar and your safety chain loops. There's even a mounting bracket for your supplemental braking system as well as one for your diode wiring, so it really has all the features set up for you to be able to hook it up. Now, the great part about this one is the fact that it has these removable arms. more

Hello Chevy owners. Today on your 2012 Chevy Silverado we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's base plate. Now, when you fly through your vehicle, there are five main components that you're gonna need when doing so. You'll need your base plate, which is the connection point for your tow bar and your vehicle, you'll need your tow bar, which is the component that connects your vehicle to your motorhome. Your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar, you'll need your diode wiring which takes all the lighting signals from your motorhome and transfers to the lights at the back of your vehicle so people know your intentions when going down the road, and your supplemental breaking system, which will apply the brakes in your vehicle when you hit them in your motorhome to help you come to a safe stop. And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the etrailer invisible base plate kit here on our 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. So a base plate kit is just gonna be one of the several components we need to successfully flat tow our Equinox here. So in addition to the base plates, we're gonna need a tow bar, which is the physical connection between the two. We're also gonna need safety cables required by law. A lot of the times the tow bar actually comes with these, so you don't have to worry about purchasing them separately. And then the last two things we need are some sort of lighting systems, such as diodes and bulb and socket kit, or just some magnetic lights. more

And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. You've got your attachment points here on each side, and these will attach to any Curt tow bar and also Blue Ox tow bars. We do also have adapters available here at etrailer, so if went with a Roadmaster or another manufacturer's base plate or tow bar, you can adapt those over, so that way you can get it attached to this base plate. Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, here on a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. So, there's a few different kinds of Roadmaster base plate kits available for this vehicle, two, in particular. There's the crossbar-style, and then the direct-connect style, which is what we have here. Now, the crossbar-style does still work well, but the direct-connect is gonna be far more seamless. We're not gonna have to worry about that bulky tow bar each and every time we need to hook up or remove our vehicle from the motorhome. It's gonna make things that much more seamless, cut down on the number of parts that we're gonna be dealing with each time. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Malibu- Video

Today, on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Blue Ox base plate kit with removable arms. So, here's what our base plate looks like once we have it fully installed. Our base plate is gonna be the attachment point where our tow bar is gonna hook up to, so we can safely and securely flat tow our Malibu down the road. What you're really gonna like about the base plate is the fact that when we're not towing, we can pull on this tab, right here, the arm will rotate, and then we can pull it out and we'll have a very inconspicuous look. Like most base plates, we're gonna have our safety cable connection points, right here, next to the arms. And as you can see, we'll have plenty of room to get those hooks on or off and not have to worry about fighting the grill or any part of the car. more
